An interesting alternative to PhotoshopPhotoScape is a free photo editing program with enough features and tools that anyone serious with their photos will certainly want to check it out. While it’s not on the same level as Photoshop, it’s the closest thing to any free photo editor, and while it doesn’t look great, it performs much better than most editors. PhotoScape is an excellent free photo editor that will provide users with a good set of really useful tools and features to enhance and edit your images. While it doesn’t offer the same flexibility as Photoshop, it has a lot to offer, from installation to finishing (function() {(‘review-app-page-desktop’);}); Installing Photoscape Download Downloading and installing PhotoScape is quick and easy. The installation wizard can sometimes bundle other programs, so you should be very careful, but the overall impression is one of ease. After opening the program, you will see a somewhat strange interface. This is mainly because the splash screen looks crooked as there is a large image on the right and almost nothing on the left. As soon as you choose an option, it disappears, but it makes your first experience with the app a little awkward. Photo Editing Options with PhotoScape In the somewhat awkward home screen, you have two ways to interact with the photo editing software. Clicking on one of the icons around the main PhotoScape icon is one, or you can access it through the tabs at the top of the app. Here on the home screen, you can also access language options, other options and other software from the same developer, ie PhotoScape X for Mac, VideoBlend for Mac and Morning Kit for Android. The app works fine, although the editing options aren’t on the same level as a more complicated photo editing program. When opening an image in the editor, you will see the image in the main screen, a file explorer on the left and editing options at the bottom. Editing options can be divided into house, object, cut and tools. The main limitation here is that PhotoScape doesn’t support layers, but it does support many other great editing options. Home lets you resize the image and apply all sorts of usual effects like effects, filters and medium editing options like flower, sharpen and black and white. Object lets you write on the image orinsert shapes and symbols on it. Cropping offers many options over image cropping and the tools provide access to more focused adjustments such as red-eye removal and a clone stamp feature. Is PhotoScape a valuable alternative to Photoshop? Whether or not PhotoScape works for editing images really depends on what you want to do or the professionalism required for the end result. If you needthe real polish and creativity that layers offer, you’ll probably find that PhotoScape is missing a bit. If, however, you just want to do some basic edits and have fun with your photos in the meantime, PhotoScape is a great option. It allows you to have all the fun of editing, with an app that is much less complicated and easy to navigate. That’s not to say PhotoScape can’t create a professional image – it’s just going to take a little longer to get there, as PhotoScape isn’t as nimble as its paid layers, but it’s a brilliant application nonetheless when people argue apps worldwide. Photo Editing One of the first questions to ask concerns layers. Because Photoshop is a great application (and Photoshop has layers), it’s often seen as a basic necessity when it comes to what’s good in an application. The truth, however, is that many of us just don’t need layers in our photo edits. If you think you can live without it, PhotoScape is a great place to start. It has a hands-on approach that allows you to edit a photo in a meaningful way and, unlike an alternative like Picsart, is more focused on editing real photos than creating fun photos to share online. If you’re looking for a photo pro without a price tag, PhotoScape should be your first stop. What’s New Several changes were made in the latest PhotoScape update. Among them: Added “Black & White” and “Bandicoot” filters (Editor > Home, Adding a “Smart Blur” brush (Editor > Tools > Effect brush), Brush size changed from 3 to 4 and gets bigger , Added 29 more movie effects, so a total of 35 movie effects now (Editor > Home) and improved “Movie Effect” user interface..
