The largest part of the main window is a gray rectangle where you will find smart scans. On the left side you will find various privacy, protection and performance menus. Recuva for Android Many people seem to want to know if there is a version of Recuva for Android. Unfortunately, the answer doesn’t seem to be – there are alternatives and apps with similar names, but they weren’t made by Piriform, the people who make Recuva. That said, some claim that they could recover deleted files on Android simply by connecting them to the computer via USB or card reader and asking Recuva to work with it as if it were just another device. We don’t know if this works or not, but it seems possible. Download Recuva This file recovery program is very easy to download and install. The download and installation is fast and contains no complicated options or questions. You may want to press the Customize button during the installation process – this will allow you to choose whether you want Recuva to open when starting or hanging the approval. Looks good, Recuva is pretty basic (it looked the same for at least seven years!), But because it’s such a useful program we can’t really stop it – it’s definitely better to use than apps like TestDiskc, which barely has an interface all the way! Moving around is pretty easy; there are very few hidden options – everything on the screen in front of you – and all recovery options are done through a guide, so there’s never any doubt what to do next. How do you use Recuva? Using Recuva is very easy. When you decide to scan, the app will ask where you want to scan and what you are looking for. If you know the answer to any of these, perfect, but if not, don’t worry – you can scan everything to see what it throws up. When the scan is complete (it was fairly quick in our tests, but the computer is relatively new and empty), you will be presented with a list of all recyclable items. In addition to the file name, it shows where, when last modified, its size and how likely it is to recover. If known, Recuva will also tell you what has happened to the file since you deleted it, for example if it was overwritten. Once you find the file you are looking for and it seems to be recoverable, press Restore and Recuva will do what it can. You select a location to store the recovered file (Recuva appearssuggests that the chance of recovery is higher if you save the recovered file to a device other than the one where Recuva is installed) and if you succeed your file will be back. This lack of security is a hallmark of apps like Reciva and Undelete 360 - you can never be sure you can restore a file, but you might as well give it a try. Get more from Recuva Recuva is very easy to use, but there are some ways to adjust the process. Firstly, there is a small but useful set of help / frequently asked questions on the Recuva website, as well as a forum with advice on how to improve the quality of your recoveries and how to restore damaged Word documents, for example.
