American oil tanker Bill Baker from Oklahoma travels to Marseille to visit his foreign daughter Allison, who is in prison for the murder she allegedly committed. Faced with language barriers, cultural differences and a complex legal system, Bill is building a new life for himself in France when his task is to free his daughter.
