Welcome to 34 Days of Purification! This is the first part of a two-part program to help you live your best you. In the next 34 days (November 14 – December 17) you will be embarking on a journey to clear past blocks and triggers from your body, mind and spirit so you are more open to creating new neural pathways. These 34 days are about “purifying/detoxifying” so that you have more space in your BE-ing to move ahead with your dreams and desires and make them a practical reality.

We will be employing powerful techniques based on modern brain science and ancient knowledge to build new and enduring practices that support you and I promise it will be a fun and rewarding experience.

Get ready to clear the way to living your full potential!

January 6: Tomorrow Begins our 55 Day Journey Together

By the end of today you will be receiving an e-mail with a link to our 55 Day LYBY Program page. The e-mail will include your personal password to access this page where I’ll be posting regular messages to you throughout our 55 day journey. We have some great new features being added to our program page and I can’t wait to share them with you as they’re being rolled out!

Remember we have our kick-off call tomorrow at 5pm PST call-in information being sent out as well as on the right column of this page. Bring pen and paper to our call and by tomorrow, select at least one song/musical that inspires you, makes you feel good, motivates you, brings you greater sense of peace-whatever your heart is calling you to and, that you’re willing to commit to listening to EVERY single day for the next 55 days. I’ve posted quite a few songs that are my favorites. Here is one more that KD Lang sings. I think she does one of the most beautiful renditions of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.”

If you like, close your eyes and feeeeeel this song…till tomorrow…

Hallelujah

January 5: Leaps of Faith! & The Gift of my Peace CD

As we prepare for this new year and begin our 55 day journey together on Tuesday, I thought this message by Yehuda Berg who is the Founder of the Kabbalah Centers is perfect to share. I hope you enjoy it as well as the free download (link at the bottom of this posting) of my Peace Relaxation CD. I produced this CD however, the voice on it is not mine. I know many of you requested I create relaxation recordings for you to use. It’s my plan to create these for you 2014! In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the Peace CD. Make this your Leap Year!

SMALL LEAPS OF FAITH
by Yehuda Berg

The kabbalists teach that this is an incredibly special week. The infamous story of the Red Sea miraculously splitting in two, happened on this very week in history. We teach at The Kabbalah Centre that this is not just a story about biblical figures, but it is actually about us. The story is a deeply profound code for how to handle challenges that seem as insurmountable to us as the parting of a body of water.

When Moses first asks The Creator to part the sea, The Creator responds, “Why are you asking me?”

When we face challenges, we tend to cry out for help. We pray or we beg the universe to make a miracle happen. What this story teaches us is that it’s actually in our hands to make miracles happen. This spiritual principle is illuminated later in the story, when one of the Israelites decides to charge into the waters. It isn’t until he is near complete submersion that the waters begin to miraculously part.

To allow for the miracle to take place, required a leap of faith.

Waiting for the universe to fix our problems for us will never solve anything. It’s when we gather the courage to face our problems that the universe will shift to intervene on our behalf.

No challenge is impossible to overcome. This week there is an energy available that can help us take the necessary steps to face those challenges head on.

With small leaps of faith, we can create big miracles.

January 4th 2014: Clean, Clear, Clarify and Create

I encourage you to continue to clean, clear, clarify and create this weekend 🙂 These two inspiring music videos are probably more for the the ladies…I hope they inspire you. Join me, I’m taking all weekend long to focus on the 4-C’s. Huge hugs.

1. Roar by Katie Perry: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CevxZvSJLk8

2. From the movie “Dirty Dancing” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9BbUqHrWFI (ok I confess, I’ve seen this movie many, many times and its’ one of my favorites)

January 2, 2014: Give it Just a Touch of Love

As you begin this first week of a New Year take some time EACH DAY to clear out anything left over from the past. Do you have a stack of papers that have piled up and need to be gone through – sorted and eliminated? What about old clothes you don’t wear anymore, what about clutter you’ve been wanting to clean up, what about cobwebs in the ceilings (yes, I’m serious 😉 clean it out! Anywhere, anything that you can think of…give it just a touch of love…clear it out to complete creating space on your brain superhighway. Let your new year resolutions become your revelations! To inspire you, here is a short video from the movie “The Sister Act”. Turn up the volume watch, listen and dance as if no one is watching. Give it just a touch of love!

December 31, 2013: Happy New Years Eve! – Creating 2014

Hopefully, you took some time to acknowledge yourself for this past year – see December 26th posting. Today, is the perfect time to begin creating your 2014. Take some time today and tomorrow to be in a quiet space – take time just for you. You can even create a sacred space to sit in and write out your answers to the questions below. Doing this with a loved one and sharing your answers can be something very sweet to share with each other. Ask yourself:

1. What would I like my biggest triumph in 2014 to be?

2. What would I be most happy about completing in 2014?

3. What would I most like to improve in my financial results in 2014?

4. In my work, what would I most like to change and improve in 2014?

5. What am I most looking forward to learning in 2014?

6. What is a yet undeveloped talent I am willing to explore in 2014?

7. What brings me most joy and how am I going to do or have more joy in 2014?

8. Who or what (other than myself) am I most committed to loving and serving in 2014?

9. What one word would I like to have as my theme in 2014?

Wishing you a New Year filled with everything this image is showing and many more blessings and beyond… With love and Light, Sylva PS. Can’t wait to begin our 55 day journey together 🙂

December 30, 2013: Movies that Inspire

Here is a list of movies that are inspirational and have a positive message. A couple of them I’ve mentioned before, they’re great to watch with children, family and friends so that you can share your “take-aways” with each other. I’d love to hear what you think of them.

1. One of my favorite animated series introduced to me by my sweetie Travis, is the Kung Fu Panda series (1, 2 and 3). So much fun to watch and the animation is incredible. A new Kung Fu Panda 4 movie is coming out in 2014-can’t wait!

2. St. Ralphs

3. The Peaceful Warrior

4. Facing the Giants

5. The Ron Clark Story

6. Miracle

That should fill the movie watching time if you’re not fixated on the US Football Games in the next few days 🙂 Love and Light

December 28, 2013: Music that Inspires

In our 55 Day program starting January 7, 2014 I will be asking you to select at least one song that inspires you and to listen to it daily. Here is one of my favorite songs (that has not been released) by Alexi Murdoch.

Know that you are part of something beautiful…you are a huge Light on our planet…click on the link below, close your eyes and listen carefully…I see your Light Shine…You are Beautiful!

December 26, 2013: Acknowledging Yourself for 2013

So often we focus our mind on what we have not acted upon or the things we should have done versus all that we have done. Prior to the start of the new year, please take time in the next few days to review your 2013 and notice all that you have done and acknowledge yourself. Here are some questions to ask yourself preferably, write-out your answers. This may be a fun activity you can do with your buddy on the phone or Skype or even share your answers with each other via e-mail.

Completing 2013
1. What was your biggest triumph in 2013?
2. What was the smartest decision you made in 2013?

December 24 & 25, 2013: Merry Christmas!

Dear LYBY Family: Merry, Merry Christmas. For those of you celebrating Christmas May this time with family and friends be joyful. Christmas is about celebrating incredible acts of love. Gift giving on Christmas is a kind of gesture of love. Today and tomorrow, keep this in mind (no matter where you may be) and, keep asking yourself, “what incredible act of love can I do in this moment?” Perhaps it’s telling someone you love them, perhaps it’s taking a few deep breaths – for yourself, perhaps it’s being fully present for someone even though you would rather not be with them in that moment. Or, perhaps it’s giving a hand to someone in need.

Most importantly, what incredible acts of love can you do for yourself? What loving thoughts (and words) can you tell yourself about yourself? Notice, when your mind strays from love and then remember to ask yourself, “what incredible act of love can I do right now…for another…for me?”

I hope you enjoy this brief 5 minute video about acts of love, the foreign language on the very last slide is Czech-my native language 🙂

Acts of Love

My hope that as you connect with loved ones during the holidays you gain an even clearer vision of yourself and your own brilliant Light on our planet. Know, you are deeply loved.

December 22, 2013: Your First Gift for the Holidays

Dear LYBY Family: Today I have the first of two gifts to share with you. This gift is a bonus to our program and is also being given to you by Robin and Tom Palmer who are participants in our program. The holiday times can be challenging to keep our regular sleep schedules and, just to even get enough sleep. So, this is a perfect time to receive this gift.

According to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, some 70 million people in the United States have a sleep problem. About 40 million adults suffer from a chronic sleep disorder; an additional 20 – 30 million have intermittent sleep-related problems.

Sleep is important to brain health. If you do not get a good night’s sleep, you may feel some of the effects the next morning, such as lower energy levels, irritability and fatigue. According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, most adults need between seven and eight hours of sleep each night, Getting good sleep during those hours has an impact on certain cognitive functions.

For centuries, scientists and philosophers have wondered why people sleep and how it affects the brain. Only recently have scientists shown that sleep is important for storing memories. When you are sleeping, your brain goes through a process called memory consolidation. During consolidation, information you learned during the day becomes long-term memory. Your quality of sleep can impact that process. Harvard Health Publications noted that individuals who slept after learning a task performed better in studies compared to individuals who did not sleep after learning. As a result, not getting enough sleep can have a negative impact on your brain health. However, getting too much sleep can also have a negative impact.

HealthDay News reported that in a study using data from over 15,000 women, they found too little (less than 5 hours) or too much (over 9 hours) sleep caused the participants’ brains to “age” by two years.

Further, a good night’s rest may literally clear your mind. Researchers showed for the first time that the space between brain cells may increase during sleep, allowing the brain to flush out toxins that build up during waking hours. These results suggest a new role for sleep in health and disease. The study was funded by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), part of the NIH.

“Sleep changes the cellular structure of the brain. It appears to be a completely different state,” said Maiken Nedergaard, M.D., D.M.Sc., co-director of the Center for Translational Neuromedicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center in New York, and a leader of the study.

In this study, Dr. Nedergaard and her colleagues unexpectedly found that sleep may be also be the period when the brain cleanses itself of toxic molecules. Their results, published in Science, show that during sleep a plumbing system called the glymphatic system may open, letting fluid flow rapidly through the brain. Dr. Nedergaard’s lab recently discovered the glymphatic system helps control the flow of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), a clear liquid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. The results may also highlight the importance of sleep. “We need sleep. It cleans up the brain,” said Dr. Nedergaard.

December 18, 2013: December 18-January 7th 2014 Program Participation

Dear Wonderful LYBY Program Participants. These past 34 days have been extremely joyful in staying connected with you! On the call from yesterday I shared our program next steps including how to stay engaged during our holiday break.

Here is a summary of how to stay on course on your brain superhighways:

1. I will continue to post inspirational messages on our private Facebook page. If you use Facebook be sure to daily read these postings.

2. If you were not able to get on our program website daily then use this “break time” to read through those that you missed and/or watch some of the videos you wanted to watch and/or do some of the suggested activities.

3. Connect with your LYBY buddy and share how you can best support each other during this time. Especially, share how you can support each other in the one area you’ve been focusing on in the past 34 days

4. Continue to daily write the five things you are grateful for and your 4 desires in your journal.

5. Daily, continue to listen to the inspirational music piece(s) you selected so that your mind stays connected to the rhythm you’d like it to go.

6. At the end of the Live Call we had last night (Dec. 17) and posted under Call Recordings I did about a 20 minute body relaxation time. The time frames for it is 47:26 to 1:06:44. You can go back to this relaxation recording portion anytime you feel it will serve you.

7. During the holidays, notice what thoughts come up as you spend time with family and friends. There might really be some “juicy” things you can do The Work on. Connect with your buddy to help you with this or the the free facilitation service at www.thework.org OR, I’m going to offer a bonus call after Christmas for anyone who’d like to do The Work with me. I will post day and time soon.

8. Continue to regularly check in on our course website as every 2-3 days I will be posting messages to support you in continuing with spiritual purification. This will include great inspirational holiday movie suggestions. And, as we approach January 7th, 2014 I will be posting on a few things you can do to prepare for the 55 day portion of LYBY.

I’m so grateful to your participation in this program!

Love and gratitude,

Sylva

December 17, 2013: Live Call Tonight at 5pm PST/8pm EST can’t wait to hear you on our call!

Please do not drive and participate in (or listen to) the call on your cell phone. This may disrupt the recording. Best for you to wait for the recording to be posted within 24 hours and then listen to it that way. Thank you for understanding!

“Before anything else, preparation is the key to success.” – Alexandar Graham Bell

December 16, 2013: Living ALL OUT

Purification is about preparing our mind, body and spirit to create space for living fully integrated. Here is the story of one very young woman who seems to have come into this world with a great awareness for living all out…fully herself. Read, watch and be inspired….

Ouray, Colorado native Zina Nicole Lahr has touched the hearts and imaginations of many in her brief lifetime. But the reach of the 23-year-old artist and inventor has grown exponentially since her death last month, thanks to a video on Facebook, shot last August by her childhood friend, Stormy Pyeatte.

Lahr died in an apparent hiking accident on Nov. 20, 2013 near Ouray. The following weekend, Pyeatte, a film student at the Santa Fe University of Art and Design, held an open house at the Wright Opera House showcasing Lahr’s work as an artist which included Lahr creations, ranging from whimsical solar-powered robots to tiny intricate figurines to puppets with LED lights for eyes. In the video, Lahr comes to life on the screen, aviator goggles on her head, discussing her “creative compulsive disorder,” her art and her inimitable sense of style.

Almost immediately, like Lahr’s whimsical robotic inventions, the video took on a life of its own. By the end of its first day online, it had 4,000 views. On Friday, Dec. 6, Aspen Public Radio aired a story about the video. The video was soon at the top of Colossal’s home page, under the headline, “Creative Compulsive Disorder: Remembering Zina Nicole Lahr.” The video spread like wildfire. Vimeo featured it as an editor’s pick; by Tuesday, Dec. 10, it had well over 245,000 views.

Zina was so full of life and so much promise and so excited about everything she did. The message is, ‘Don’t take your life for granted; remember this is only temporary.’” So many people are talking about how much Zina inspired them. Witness this first hand, to see how Zina lives on.” (Source: watchnewspapers.com)

The Work of Zina Nicole Lahr

What can you do today to create space for in your life to live your life full out?

Remember, we have our live group call tomorrow at 5pm PST-call in info. in column to the right 🙂

December 15, 2013: Global Compassion

This is a time of the year when people of many countries, religions and traditions celebrate various holidays and festivals. It’s a time when people open their hearts more in love and kindness with family, friends and community. Yet, often we carry thought, beliefs, concepts about other religions, cultures and/or have judgements about their traditions. I believe this is the best place to begin our spiritual purification.

About 15 years ago I wrote an article that got published in the peer reviewed journal, The American Journal of Health Promotion. In summary, in the article I wrote about how often we have negative thoughts and beliefs about others who we believe are “different” than us or “prejudiced us” or “persecuted us” and this gets genetically in-bred into our DNA. We carry certain prejudices, concepts and beliefs about what we’ve been told or read about what happened to our ancestors and possibly we experienced ourselves and then we hold hatred, anger, grudges, resentment, fear, and pain about people from that “place” that did us wrong. This is how war in our head and in real life gets carried on from generation to generation.

Until we choose not to participate in this war it does affect our Spirit negatively and puts that same negative energy out into the universe. We create all kinds of justification in our head about it….”after all, great injustice was done to our family, our history and if we don’t keep living it (in our head) then we believe that if we let go of this emotional attachment to “what happened” we then allow that same injustice to continue. Yet, really the opposite is true. Then we wonder why our governments can’t stop wars or begin them…yet we can’t stop it in our own head.

I heard a psychological profile done on Osama Bin Laden and it was so fascinating to hear this as it was a perfect example of how cultural hatred gets into our DNA. I will share it on our call on Tuesday evening.

This area of our heart is the perfect place to begin spiritual purification. Take just a few minutes today to write down any negative thoughts, beliefs, concepts etc…you have about another culture, religion and/or their traditions (here’s a list to get you thinking about where you might have thoughts stored about some of these cultures and religions: Turks, Arabs, Islam, Jews, Christians, Hindu’s, Indians, Mexicans, African-Americans, Mormons, Russians, Howlies, Bosnians, Serbs, ____(you fill in)____Terrorists, etc…etc…etc…). Get it all out on paper, write out those negative thoughts, concepts and judgements you may have and take a close look at them. Are they even yours or are you carrying them from generations past?

Isn’t it interesting that most wars on our planet are started for “religious” purposes-what an oxymoron that is! Today, make a commitment to no longer contribute to this war. Rip apart that piece of paper you wrote on or burn it…get rid of it once and for all. Now close your eyes for a moment and give gratitude for the diversity we have on our planet and the beauty and color it brings to all of us. Make a statement to your Be-ing you are no longer going to carry on these negative emotions and harmful concepts passed down from generations that are harmful to our Spirit and to our Global Family’s Spirit. Doesn’t that feel so much better? Thank you.

And so it is! 🙂

December 14, 2013: Spiritual Purification

For the next few days we’ll be talking about spiritual purification. Since most of you are still integrating The Work of Byron Katie, for today there will be no discourse. Just a reminder to take a moment and connect to your own inner Light and breathe. Throughout the day, roll your shoulders back, open up your chest area and take deep diaphraghmic breaths. You can also do the reverse breathing. All ancient practices included breathing practices since our breath is our most important nutrients and can serve to slow our mind down to experience greater silence. Give yourself a moment to slow down and consciously connect to your breath…feel your soul presence…

December 13, 2013: The Work Final Chapter for This Year

Thank you to those of you who were able to get on our special “Loving What Is – The Work” of Byron Katie call last night. Unfortunately, we had a lot of background noise on the call in the beginning so I’m going to see about the possibility of editing the call before posting it. Know it won’t be posted in the next few days as it may now take a little while to see what’s possible in editing the recording. As a reminder for our program calls, it’s best not to be driving and listening. Driving and being on a call that’s being recorded may create a lot static noise on the call. You’ll get more from the call if you listen to the recording and drive then listening to it live plus, you’ll protect the possibility of cell phone and driving static disrupting the call. Thank you for understanding.

It was a wonderful to be able to facilitate one of our program participants, Christine in doing The Work and then experience the “ah-ha’s” that came through her as she examined her thinking. Thank you Christine for volunteering and stepping up so others could learn through your sharing.

Your assignment for the next week is to complete filling out a Judge Your Neighbor Worksheet (if you have not done so already). Then set a time with your buddy to facilitate each other in doing The Work. I highly encourage you to support each other in doing The Work so you not only get a chance to experience doing it, you also practice facilitating. If it’s not possible to do The Work with your buddy then you have the option of going to http://www.instituteforthework.com/itw/content/helpline where there are volunteers available who will facilitate you in doing The Work.

As I shared on the call, when facilitating, do not do The Work for your buddy or act as their coach. Let the answers come through them…through their heart. However, if they start to go into the “story” and disconnect from answering the question it’s ok to re-direct them by letting them know they’re going into the story. Then remind them to breathe and go back into their heart – then ask them the question again. It’s also important when you facilitate to only ask your buddy the following 4 questions:

1. Is it true?

2. Can you absolutely know that it’s true?

3. How do you react when you think that thought?

4. Who would you be without the thought?

5. Then the turnaround…

Like anything doing and facilitating The Work takes practice before you become proficient at it. And, the practice I promise you will be well worth it, a greater sense of peace, joy and loving what is – is definitely worth it.

Throughout the busy holiday season, as you’re spending time with friends and family notice what things may be coming up for you. What thoughts start running in your head. Rather than “stewing” these things in your mind, complete a Judge Your Neighbor Worksheet and then connect with your buddy and/or find someone who can do The Work with you…and find your peace.

“Until the story is met with understanding, there is no peace.” ~ Byron Katie

December 12, 2013: Loving What Is

Today, we have our Loving What Is – The Work of Byron Katie call. The call is at 5pm PST – call-in information 1-213-342-3000 pin: 828000. The call length is 60 minutes, however, if I’m in the middle of doing The Work with someone I will not cut the call off so just know the call may be longer depending on your participation.

In preparation for the call. Please have completed a Judge Your Neighbor Worksheet and bring it to the call. If you have not done The Work before, and not yet completed a Worksheet, if possible, please watch the video I posted on Dec. 8th (below) of Katie sharing on how to complete a Worksheet.

If you’ve done The Work before and are participating in the call – I’m so happy you’ll be there to provide support and are continuing with doing your own Work. As you know, when someone is doing The Work – it is our Work as well. We are all doing “The Work.” I’m excited about our call tonight!

Here is one of my favorite quotes by Byron Katie: “There are three kind of business, their business, Gods business and your business. Who’s business are you in?” OH and, “when you’re over there…who’s there for you?” 🙂

December 11, 2013: Take just 1:11 to Watch this Video

Our Concepts Video

Now take a few minutes to fill out one more Judge Your Neighbor Worksheet 🙂

December 10, 2013: How Kind Can You Be to You?

If you’re experiencing any kind of fear or pain; pain in your heart, in your mind, in your interaction with another person then you have not examined your thinking. Please watch at least this one video today on “Finding Kindness and Questioning Stressful Thoughts.” Then watch it over and over until you really understand that there is no real pain, there are only unexamined thoughts. Then complete at least one more Judge Your Neighbor Worksheet. Again, do not do The Work if you have not done it before, until we do it together…

Finding Kindness

Unconditiona Love Happens in an Unquestioned Mind

“Awareness always focuses on something. It surfs it. It will notice a finger or a foot. It’s like swaying. Somewhere within it there’s always a focus. The breath is like a surfing at the back of the tongue. It doesn’t matter where the awareness is. The breath, the fingers, the toes. Like a heartbeat. Something going on all the time within it. There’s nothing moving it, and it is perpetual motion. Its focus is itself. It is always present, like your heartbeat. It doesn’t go faster or slower. It’s the steady condition. It’s nothing, and we want to call it something. Now it’s a hand on my head. My elbow on the couch. My hands on my foot. My heart beating. My toes swaying to its natural rhythm. I notice that my fingers are doing the same, ever so slightly. It would be undetectable if I were attached to anything. And as I speak, the swaying continues. There’s no sound, even though it appears that I’m talking. When I hear sound, it is silence also. The tongue hitting the top of the mouth. Lips coming together as it speaks. The chair holding me. Always held. Even in the walking, the earth holds her.” ~ Byron Katie

December 9, 2013: Understanding Our True Nature

Your thinking is what creates so much suffering for you. Thoughts such as, “they shouldn’t have…”, they did…”, “I’m this or that…”, “If only…” and the negative associated emotions only serve to create pain and separation. In truth, everything is done FOR you not TO you. However, your attachment to the story of what you thought was and the negative thinking is what separates you from you…from love of Self and love of other. When you truly understand this, then you begin to know your true nature which is pure love. The Work is a great tool to help you quickly come back to love.

I personally did a stack and I do mean a stack of Judge Your Neighbor Worksheets on healing the violence I saw and experienced as a young child. It was The Work that finally unraveled this part of my life so all that’s left for me is gratitude and love for those experiences. Doing The Work helped (and helps) me to experience even greater peace, joy, love and most important for me…freedom in my life. Freedom from attachment to the past “stuff,” to be in the present and to just experience it all as love. I share this only because I want you to know what’s possible when you’re willing to examine your thinking and let go of old concepts you may be holding on to. I’m not going to fool you. It’s not easy. Your ego, your unconscious mind so wants to hold on to the stories and justify them. Yet, there is no greater freedom than to examine your thinking and create “silence” – where turmoil and pain existed before. It takes great courage to do The Work. For those of you willing…I can’t wait for you to join me in having even greater freedom and peace in your mind on your Brain Superhighway.

Below, are links to a few videos that you can watch on specific areas that you may be having challenges in your own life. They are short videos. Please watch the ones that you know are for you 🙂 If you have not done The Work before, please don’t begin as for your first few times you really should be facilitated by someone else since your mind loves to be the trickster and will “trick” you in not really doing The Work. Lets begin doing The Work together in the next few days…

December 8, 2013: Completing a Judge Your Neighbor Worksheet

“There is no story that is you or that leads to you. Every story leads away from you. You are what exists before all stories.” ~ Byron Katie

Today, take just 10 minutes to watch this video of Byron Katie sharing how to complete a Judge Your Neighbor Worksheet. As you follow the video, be sure to have printed out a worksheet and fill it out as Katie instructs you. If you don’t have it, I posted the Judge Your Neighbor Worksheet yesterday (Dec. 7th).

If you have done The Work before and are very familiar with it, just go ahead and complete a worksheet today without watching the video. Preferably, complete the Worksheet on a relationship that is causing you stress (“stories” you may have) around the area you are focusing on right now in the LYBY program.

Remember, “The Work is meditation. It’s about awareness; it’s not about trying to change your mind.” ~ Byron Katie

December 7, 2013: The Work of Byron Katie

For the next few days we’re going to explore The Work of Byron Katie. From personal experience and from sharing The Work with many of my clients and friends I know that The Work is one of the best tools you can learn and then personally use to examine your thoughts and beliefs. The Work will help you unravel your thinking and their associated emotions such as fear, anger, resentment, anxiety and even depression.

I’ve spent many hours in the presence of Byron Katie learning from her and using The Work. If you have done The Work then as you know…there is always more Work we can do 🙂 If you have never done The Work, then you’re in for a treat. Learning this tool will help you identify and question negative thoughts and return to a deeper awareness, truth and most importantly to peace and your true essence of love. You will then be able to use this tool for the rest of your life and, share it with others.

I’ve decided to offer a live call where I will make myself available to those of you who would like personal support in doing The Work. The call is scheduled for December 12, at 5pm PST. Even if you do not interact with me on the call in doing The Work, being on the call will be supportive to you. I am thinking of also offering an “advanced” more in-depth form of doing The Work call if enough of you are interested…let me know.

So, to get started, your actions for today are to download the following three items:

JudgeYourNeighbor_Worksheet

instructions_for_thework

TheWorkLB

1. Print out several of the Judge Your Neighbor Worksheets

2. Read The Instructions for doing The Work. Please do not do The Work (unless you have done it before and feel confident in doing The Work with someone else). This is very important.

3. Read some of the “Katieisms” on the booklet pages 41 and 42 (12/14 of the pdf) of “The Work Little Book.”

Tomorrow, I’ll be sharing on how to begin doing The Work.

December 6, 2013: Be Water

Bruce Lee was ahead of his time. His life was short and yet impacted millions of people around the world. Bruce understood how to harness the power of his mind and that’s what made him one of the greatest martial artists of his time. To the western mind, Bruce’s personal philosophy was what was so intriguing about him. Ladies I know you’ll enjoy watching these videos and hearing Bruce’s philosophy. Today, I want to share this especially for the men in our program 🙂

December 4, 2013: More on Our Thoughts

Below is a clip from the film What The Bleep Do We Know, a 2004 film that combines a number of factors that posits a connection between quantum physics and consciousness. The film features a number of prominent scientists, researchers and more and has won several independent film awards. In the film, intentions changing the structure of water is mentioned using Emoto’s research.

If thoughts can do this to water, imagine what they can do to us? Our bodies are primarily of made up of water, approximately 70 percent. If positive emotions, words and feelings can change the physical structure of water, that means that ‘self-talk’ has a direct affect on the biology of your being. Numerous studies beyond this one show how our thoughts, feelings and emotions, the things we can’t see, are primary drivers of our biological systems. The Institute of Heartmath, along with many others have proved this time and time again. Even in quantum physics, matter at it’s smallest observable level is simply pockets of energy, vibrating at a certain frequency. All we are is beings of energy, frequency and vibration. In order to change physical structure using consciousness, we have to understand that our thoughts, emotions and feelings are directly correlated with the frequency that matter (our being) vibrates at. If you change the vibrational frequency of matter, you change physical reality.

“If you want to know the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration” – Nikola Tesla

“If you knew how powerful your thoughts were, you would never think a bad thought” – Unkown

So next time you are feeling negative emotions, or feeling negative thoughts, just remember that you are having a physical impact on your biological system. Your cells, everything that makes up your physical body is always responding to you. So be nice to yourself, give yourself some love. (Source: awescience.com)

November 30, 2013: Negative Emotion Purification

To create a smooth ride on our brain superhighway today, we will begin with a brief overview of our brain and emotions and then do some negative emotion purification.

Your emotions have an actual physical location in your brain which is called the limbic system. The amygdala and hippocampus, both small structures within it, are believed to be the primary areas managing your emotions. The amygdala is vital as it handles fear (our fight and flight response) as well as our moods and our conscious emotional response to things such as anger, pleasure and, again, fear. The hippocampus region handles memory however, only short-term memory. The kind of memory needed to learn skills by rote, such as riding a bike, and it is the mechanism the brain uses to file away new memories-only for moments. Another important limbic area related to emotions is the thalamus. The thalamus acts as a “traffic cop” for our sensory input, directing visual, auditory and touch senses to the cortex.

Here is a brief video about your emotions:

(This video can be also be accessed and played by copying and pasting this URL into your browser: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNY0AAUtH3g)

Your emotions can actually direct your thinking and that’s because emotions are the language of your unconscious mind. When you want to get on the brain superhighway and, stay on it, the fastest way to get to your destination is to use your emotions. So now, before we go any deeper into our emotional selves. Lets first begin with negative emotion clearing. Today, write down any emotions that have been coming up for you in regards to at least one purification area you’ve been focusing on (eating less sugar/refined foods, eating more balanced meals, money worry, getting more exercise, etc…). Now write down the emotions/feeling that have been coming up for you since you began this program. Here’s a hint to some: resentment, fear, anger, excuses ie. lack of time, avoidance, doubt, etc…etc…If you need any help with this be sure to connect and explore with your LYBY buddy.

Next go outside someplace such as the ocean, a hill or mountain top, your back yard and scream out these emotions…go ahead, let them out…release them fully…Just let them go and then shake yourself out, your arms, your legs – you’re shaking these emotions out of your body.

Lastly, write down the emotions you’d like to imprint regarding this new positive area of your life and share them with your buddy-you can e-mail or text them…just do it!

November 29, 2013: Let’s Go Shopping on Black Friday Through Cyber Monday!

In researching information for this posting I found myself fascinated by the whole frenzy around Black Friday and Cyber Monday. For those that may be interested, in italics below is a brief overview in how it all got started.

For millions of people Black Friday is the time to do some serious Christmas shopping –even before the last of the Thanksgiving leftovers are gone! Black Black is the Friday after Thanksgiving, and it’s one of the major shopping days of the year in the United States -falling anywhere between November 23 and 29. While it’s not recognized as an official US holiday, many employees have the day off -except those working in retail.

The term “Black Friday” was coined in the 1960s to mark the kickoff to the Christmas shopping season. “Black” refers to stores moving from the “red” to the “black,” back when accounting records were kept by hand, and red ink indicated a loss, and black a profit. Ever since the start of the modern Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1924, the Friday after Thanksgiving has been known as the unofficial start to a bustling holiday shopping season.

In the 1960’s, police in Philadelphia griped about the congested streets, clogged with motorists and pedestrians, calling it “Black Friday.” In a non-retail sense, it also describes a financial crisis of 1869: a stock market catastrophe set off by gold spectators who tried and failed to corner the gold market, causing the market to collapse and stocks to plummet.(Source: blackfriday.com) According to the National Retail Federation, the number of shoppers on Black Friday has been steadily increasing, with 89 million going out on Black Friday in 2012, up from 86 million in 2011. Over last year’s Black Friday weekend, they also spent a lot: The average shopper forked over $423, up from $398 in 2011. (Source: theweek.com)

Here’s a brief entertaining parody video with Tom Petty singing in the background

Now I too found my mind engaged in the Black Friday frenzy. I could see how the powerful advertising messaging had started to infiltrate my own mental space. I am a partner in an Fair-Trade business that has an on-line store and I write the company’s monthly e-news. Last couple of weeks my personal e-mail has been filled with e-mails promoting Black Friday and/or Cyber Monday. I started to feel the pressure to send out a special discount to get in on the game in our e-news as well. However, my mind was in a dilemma over it. I questioned the whole thing and whether or not we should really participate? And, what if we don’t? Will we be missing out on generating extra sales? I realized that shoppers are now mentally trained to look for bargains these four “special” shopping days and if we don’t participate then is that a bad business choice? After pondering and trying to figure out what to do I came up with a solution.

What if we could taking advantage of Black Friday – Cyber Monday by focusing our minds and activities on doing more good in the world? For my company, what if we could donate a percentage of all sales Friday-Monday to a couple organizations I know are doing really good work on the ground helping those most affected by typhoon Haiyan? So that’s what we decided to do….that felt much more in integrity with our whole mission and vision anyway…..

Ahhh…so now to our LYBY program. What if today through Monday we all agree to do some brain superhighway shopping? What good can you do for yourself, for your LYBY buddy and for others in the next four days? What can you put in your mental shopping cart of “doing-good? What about sending your buddy a message of support today. What about sharing at least one gratitude or appreciation with a loved one. What about filling up your brain superhighway shopping cart FULL of words and thoughts you’d like your mind to stay focused on. This is exciting….you can even fill more than one shopping cart on your brain superhighway!

Here’s a hint of words and thoughts you can put into your own mind-shopping cart: peace, joy, love, happiness, gratitude, appreciation, abundance, vibrant health, love, integrity with your own body, mind and spirit, prosperity, fun, laughter, openness to infinite possibilities, gentleness, kindness, trust, and loving yourself….go ahead, I challenge you, write down ALL the things you’re going to fill your mind with today.

Here’s a video to inspire you to participate in this challenge:

And, if by chance you do head out into the shopping frenzy to take advantage of some of those shopping deals…challenge your mind to stay focused on the words and thoughts you’d like to permanently imprint and doing it with ease, grace, fun and a huge sense of humor. Happy Shopping! http://www.dreamstime.com/-image2986275

November 28, 2013: Happy, Happy, Thanks & Giving

Today, I wish all of you who are celebrating Thanksgiving a joy-filled day! May all of you have a day where each moment is filled in being thankful for all that you have and all that you are. You’re very presence on this planet, in our lives and in this program is important. Today write down what you are grateful for in your I AM presence, be sure to honor yourself:

I AM grateful for:

The breath that I breathe since I know we breathe one breath

The love that I feel and the love that connects everyone to everything

The gift of beloved friends, family and all those participating in this program

Source Light and it’s eternal presence

The healing power of the ocean and beloved dolphins and whales

The majestic mountains and the symbols they have been in my life

Community and all it stands for

Knowing I am here to serve others

The Earth and all it’s inhabitants that constantly speak to me

Great Masters and Teachers and their presence in my life

Thank you for this day Spirit…thank you for this day….

Here is one of my favorite morning songs:

THANK YOU FOR YOUR MAGNIFICENT PRESENCE! I’M VERY GRATEFUL

November 27, 2013: Breeeeaaathe

Today is the day before Thanksgiving in the United States. Whether driving to someones’ home or cooking and cleaning for guests to arrive in your own home, I’m sure you can feel the energy of the hustle and bustle in the air. To those who are not living in the US, you can still participate in today’s lesson and get benefits.

On our first live call I shared the Reverse Breathing technique and if you have not downloaded the instructions I posted on Nov. 14, please do so today. Do this breathing technique especially today and tomorrow to help your mind connect to the alpha state (relaxed and alert) so that you balance the high beta state which happens when we’re anxious or stressed. Connect with your buddy and remind them to do this breathing technique and if you can, do it together for a minute. Just one minute a few times during the day will make a big difference to your mind and, day. The reverse breathing technique will slow down your thoughts and make you be more present to yourself and your day in what could otherwise be a rushed and hectic day….I guarantee it 🙂

Here’s a fun game you can also play. As you look at your “To-Do” or shopping list write down next to the item on your list or at least make a mental note of a positive word associated with the first letter on your list. Here’s an example:

Shopping = Sexy – ha, wanted to get your attention 😉

Turkey = Truth

Potatoes = Positive

Gravy = Groovey

Pie = Prayer

Vegetables = Vibrant health

You get the idea….keep your mind focused on where you want it to be…Keep having fun!

November 26, 2013: The Endless Possibilities of Your Mind

Since I moved, a few months ago I went to a new dentist closer to where I now live. I started asking him questions about how he deals with the fear that most people have in going to a dentist. He told me he does all he can to distract them from the worry of possible pain and that he now understands how powerful the mind can be in managing pain. Then he started to share a story about two of his very young patients. They are a little girl 10 years old and a little boy 8 years old and their parents are originally from Japan.

He proceeded to tell me that he met them when they came into his office for the first time and started talking to them like he does with most children. Telling them not be scared and telling them about the anesthesia and how well it works etc. To his awe struck surprise both said to him they have no fear and do not want any anesthesia! He could not believe it. He confirmed this with their parents and then proceeded with working in their mouths. The procedures were not teeth cleaning, but procedures that he can’t even imagine anyone let alone a child having without some sort of shot for the pain. He himself was wincing as he was working on them and kept checking in with them asking if they were ok. Not once did the children even wince. He was shocked. Afterwards, he asked them how this was possible? They told him that they don’t have a thought or a belief that going to the dentist could hurt them in any way. That their parents had always told them that going to the dentist would not hurt so they know that it is true….Ahhh…the power of your mind!

Here are some videos that I think you’ll enjoy watching (please copy and paste the links into your browser then play).

Sharing from Wayne Dyer and he too has a Dentist story

Lastly, a clip from the movie Dead Poets Society to remind you about what’s possible with your mind.

November 25, 2013 – Day 13: Take One Action

Today, take one action to support your buddy such as sending them a supportive message or visual image. You can even send them one that I have previously posted on this page or on our private FB page. Your messages can be on Skype or a text, a call, and e-mail. Support your buddy in helping them stay on course on their Brain Superhighway.

November 24, 2013 – Day 12: The Holidays & Our Mind

It seems that during the holiday season time somehow starts to speed up. Preparations to make, gatherings to attend, food to buy and cook. Of course we can’t forget that we may spend more money than we can afford or feel guilty if we can’t buy the gifts we’d like to buy. We may eat more of foods we don’t usually eat or way more food than we usually do or foods like lots of sugar that may set us up with all kinds of things about ourselves and how we feel physically. Then there are those expectations we hold during this time of year and family “stuff” that gets triggered and emotions get heightened….our monkey mind races even faster.

Given that you already know some of this may happen during this time of year…it’s good to prepare yourself by using the power of your mind. Yes, I know, another strategy 🙂 The word strategy comes from the Greek word “strategia” which is a high level plan to achieve one or more goals under conditions of uncertainty. Max McKeowan says that “strategy is about shaping the future” and is the human attempt to get to “desirable ends with available means”. I like this definition since it includes “shaping our future” – we can shape our holiday future.

Take a moment to write down the negative thoughts, beliefs, emotions that come up for you during the holiday season. This can be anything from feelings to things around money, to family issues to challenges with food. Just write them all down on a piece of paper. Then go ahead and rip it up or burn it (safely) and give gratitude for today is a new day and you get to shape it! Next write down the thinking and feeeelings you’d like to experience during the holiday season. What emotions would you like to experience? Joy, peace, happiness, contentment, satisfaction, laughter, fun etc..etc…Make this list as long as you like.

Next create a strategy for connecting to these feelings (and positive thoughts) through the New Year. For example, if you feel that money is a challenge for you during the holidays, write down all the ways you can have financial fulfillment during the holidays. This could be anything from rather than buying gifts, making home made cards with heartfelt messages and giving them to your loved ones. To creating a budget and sticking to it to writing down the positive thoughts and feelings you’d like to hold around money during the holidays and then asking your buddy to help you focus on these through the New Year. Be sure to tell your buddy specifically how they can support you.

We really can experience more peace, joy, love, contentment, love and “lightness” during the holiday season if we have a strategy. And, get support to use your brain superhighway to stay on course and shape the holiday season the way you’d like to ride on it.

If you’d like me to help you with your holiday challenges and you’re willing, then send me an e-mail with the challenge and I’ll e-mail you back providing some feedback and support. I’d like to post this exchange here on this page so that it can help others as well. Of course I will omit your name if it’s posted. Hopefully, soon you’ll be able to comment on my daily posts and we can have the exchange right here for all to share.

Here is an image of words to imprint in your mind during the holiday season (click on the image to expand it on your computer screen).

November 23, 2013 – Day 11: Great Movie Weekend 🙂

This weekend, should you decided to accept this mission is to watch a positive, inspirational movie with a great message. Take some notes when you watch these movies on the “mind-messages” that they share then lets share these on our private FB page. Here are my recommendations to support where we are at in our program:

1. The Ron Clark Story (based on a true story) may be available to rent at your local video store.

2. Peaceful Warrior (based on one the book Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman). Available live stream on Netfilx and iTunes

3. If you’re feeling a little down then promise your buddy you’ll watch a couple comedies-something that makes you really laugh.

Can’t wait to hear what you have to share about these movies!

November 22, 2013 – Day 10: The Power of Our Thinking Continued

Today, take out the list of thoughts you wrote down yesterday (day 9) and notice if there is a pattern to the thoughts. Are they there during a particular time of day? After a certain activity you do? In a particular location? When you’re around certain people? Is something else occurring that is attached to the non-supportive thoughts?

Next, notice what emotions come up for you: Is it worry? anger? fear? resentment? frustration? guilt? shame…etc? Rate their intensity on a scale of 0 -10 with 0 = not existent to 10 = has me completely gripped.

Lastly examine these thoughts and emotions and ask yourself are these even real to where I am at currently? Also ask yourself is this my mind working hard to keep me safe (ie. keep me where I’m at)? If yes, ask yourself what is really the truth? What is the real story of this situation? What is really going on in the NOW vs. where my thoughts are taking me? Preferably write down your answers.

After completing this activity, come back to your present self and take a few breaths or shake out your arms or legs to signal your body and mind that you are back in the present vs. where your thoughts are attaching.

Use this practice this next week to become more aware of the thoughts going through your mind and their attached emotions. As you are doing this, integrate the above suggested steps to release the “tension” of the vibratory pattern they hold in you.

Enjoy this practice…it’s so great to be fully aware of your mind and be present to the thoughts and emotions that can dominate your conscious realm…This is the beginning to opening up space to install the thoughts and emotions that you’d really like to be there.

November 21, 2013 – Day 9: The Power of Our Thinking

Today, we begin integrating mind purification into our program. Even though this may be just “refresher” for most of you, I’m sharing a url to a 10 minute video that reviews the power of our thought from the quantum perspective http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeFuc-qFKoA

To know how we got to where we are at it’s important to understand the role of our thoughts. Take just 10 minutes today to watch this video then take a moment to write down the thoughts that you have that you notice repeat in your mind that are most likely connected to some challenge(s) you may be having whether it’s having headaches or not eating properly or financial…just notice what thoughts are running in your mind. What is your thinking about these things and write them down. TBCT = To Be Continued Tomorrow.

With loving thoughts and gratitude.

November 20, 2013 – Day 8: Purifying our Skin Care

We hear a lot these days about the importance of eating organic food and food that is pesticide free. However, it’s easy to forget that our largest organ is our skin and so to truly “detox” what we put in our body we have to consider our skin care products as well. About 10 years ago I did extensive research on skin care ingredients and even though I thought I was buying “healthier” products available on the market at the time, once I got informed, I went to my bathroom cabinets and threw almost all my skin care products out.

The reason why it took a little longer than I wanted to post my message for today is because I wanted to create a handout for you that you can print out and use when you look at your own skin care products or shop for new ones. This is not just for women, men be sure look at your shaving creams and deodorant. Below, I have attached a document that lists some of the most common ingredients in your every day skin care products and their possible side effects. After you look at it don’t be discouraged. You are now armed with information to create a stronger vibratory body. Hope you find this information useful

November 19, 2013 – Day 7: Buddy Giving & Receiving

Today I’d like to share the best way you and your Living Your Best You (LYBY) buddy can support each other throughout this program. I know you all have incredible hearts and want to support others in reaching your potential by coaching, teaching, counseling, advising them etc. However, unless your buddy is already your client, please do not “coach” your buddy in this program. Also, avoid sharing “stories,” problems/issue or going into the challenge or what’s not working…just help each other to stay on track with the direction you choose to go. The purpose of having a buddy is to continuously engage with each other through reinforcing the direction you would like your minds to focus. What I mean by that is to stay focused solely on what your buddy has a desire to align with and then support their minds in staying on that superhighway by not letting them veer off course.

Your role for each other is to be like the signal person (called a Marshaller) who guides a plane to park once it’s landed by raising the flags and swinging them above his/her head. You can best support your LYBY buddy in this program by guiding in their neural pathways to stay on course. Daily your buddy job is to raise high your colored flags in front of your buddy in the direction they desire to go and keep raising them until they get there. In brain terms, until their neural pathways are well grooved. Daily you get to exchange being each others “neural pathway” Marshaller. So what does this look like on a practical level?

1. Connect with your buddy and find out what is the one thing in the area of health that they’d like to align with so that they create a stronger physical body. We’ll be adding mental, emotional and spiritual areas later…This can be eating less sugar, or refined foods, stop using a microwave, eating more greens, sticking to an exercise regimen, eating balanced meals throughout the day etc…whatever it is for them.

2. Then ask them how you can best support them? This could be a quick call first thing in the morning or a text, an e-mail, a song you send them, a YouTube video (or perhaps its a mixture of all of these (or other ways) you can send a supportive reminder for them to stay on course. I personally love to send little picture images or emoticons, music or quotes or just the exact words they use for where they want to align. If you attach a time of day this is best for each of you to receive this “signal” that can be even more powerful

3. Once a week connect for a few minutes via phone or e-mail or text and check in and ask if there is any other support you can give each other. And, be sure to share anything you learned or watched on the video links on this web page that you think might be helpful to each other.

4. Your role as a buddy is to be a Neural Pathway Marshaller. Together, you are each others signal person taxiing in your neural pathway to park-and stay parked. Buddies your mission is to be great Marshaller and help each other align with your highest vibration…and park there permanently. May the force be with you!

November 18, 2013 – Day 6: Super foods for detoxing

Some “super foods” are some of the best nutrients to help us detox our bodies from toxins that we ingest, inhale and absorb through our skin (including get injected with). More than ever our bodies are being confronted with synthetic chemicals and metals. Some of the latest scientific research is saying that your body carries more than 700 toxins–most of which have never been studied for their impact on the human body. These compounds can build up in our body and create stagnation, congestion and can bring on a host of symptoms. You can give your body a huge boost by eating super foods that help to move unwanted toxins from our body. These include:

1. Spirulina:According to a scientific review of spirulina’s benefits in the Journal of Applied Phycology, “Many pre-clinical studies and a few clinical studies suggest several therapeutic effects ranging from reduction of cholesterol and cancer to enhancing the immune system, increasing intestinal lactobacilli, reducing nephrotoxicity by heavy metals and drugs and radiation protection.”

Spirulina is ranked by AARP as the #1 superfood for extending your lifespan, and the UN has identified it as a primary ingredient in the fight against malnutrition worldwide. Although often considered a “blue-green algae,” spirulina and its kin are actually cyanobacteria. One of the special traits of spirulina is its rich protein content—it’s up to 70 percent protein by weight and contains all of the essential amino acids.

2. Chlorella–A cousin of spirulina, it is known to remove heavy metals and pesticides from the body. It will also support digestive health, normalize blood sugar levels, support mental focus and overall energy levels and yes, even help eliminate bad breath.

3. Cilantro: Considered one of the best herbs to detoxify heavy metals from your body, especially mercury. Research in India showed when used in cooking it also helps diabetes. Cilanro has anti-anxiety effects, may improve sleep quality and a host of other benefits. You can make a salad and add cilantro and if you’re really brave-just make an entire salad of cilantro.

Someone very cool who I got to hang out with one time is Dr. James A. Duke, Ph.D., a former botanist at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and author of The CRC Handbook of Medicinal Herbs, praises the digestive-system-promoting benefits of cilantro and recommends drinking a cup of the tea made from a handful of the leaves, when experiencing any form of stomach discomfort. Dr. Duke is known as the only white man who spent time in the Amazon Rainforest walking barefoot. I’ve been to and walked in the Amazon Rainforest. I confess there is no way I’d walk barefoot in the Amazon-if you only could see the size of the critters…Dr. Duke has incredible courage! 🙂

4. Seaweed: Not really promoted as a food staple in the United States, Studies at McGill University in Montreal showed that seaweeds bind to radioactive waste in the body so it can be removed. Radioactive waste can find its way into the body through through food that has been grown where water or soil is contaminated and through some medical tests. And, we can’t forget Fukishima nuclear plant explosion whose radioactive material has now reached the west coast of the United States. Seaweed also binds to heavy metals to help eliminate them from the body. In addition, it is a powerhouse of minerals and trace minerals.

5. Kale & Cabbage–contains powerful anti-cancer and antioxidant compounds that help cleanse the body of harmful substances. It is also high in fiber, which helps cleanse the intestinal tract. Both help neutralize compounds found in cigarette smoke and contains a substance that jump-starts the liver’s production of cleansing enzymes.

6. Lemons & Limes–are superb liver detoxifiers and contain high amounts of vitamin C, a vitamin needed by the body to make a substance called glutathione. Glutathione helps ensure liver detoxifiation and reduces the likelihood of negative effects from environmental chemicals. Side note: Glutathione is also the most critical and integral part of your detoxification system. All the toxins stick onto glutathione, which then carries them into the bile and the stool — and out of your body. It also helps us reach peak mental and physical function. Research has shown that raised glutathione levels decrease muscle damage, reduce recovery time, increase strength and endurance and shift metabolism from fat production to muscle development. Avocados also contain glutathione.

Lets all make a commitment to adding more of these super foods to our diet – yummy!

November 17, 2013 – Day 5: Selecting Your Supplements

One of the most common questions I’ve gotten asked over the years has been, “since there are just so many supplements on the market, how do I know what supplements to select, which are the best ones?”

Currently, it is estimated that Americans spend approximately $30 billion on supplements (all forms). However, overall in the United States and world-wide, chronic health is not improving. Why is this? One reason is that not all supplements are created equal. As a matter of fact most supplements on the market provide a fraction of the benefits that you’d hope they provide.

The reasons are the sourcing of the nutrients used to manufacture the supplement and the manufacturing standards. In the same way that we know eating whole foods and non-refined foods are best for our health, is also true for supplements we take. Over an extended period of time, too many refined/synthetic supplements can actually create problems for our health like refined food can…or, in the least provide little nutritional value.

So then how do you know when you go to purchase supplements which to choose? By purchasing whole food supplements that are not “isolated.” The benefits in supplements are from their synergistic compounds. In isolation they provide little value. About 8 years ago I did extensive research on vitamin C. I went back to the original research by Albert von Szent-Györgyi Nagyrápolt and Linus Pauling who won Nobel prizes for their research on vitamin C. When I read their research I found that both wrote that the true benefits from taking vitamin C is when you take it in it’s whole form. Meaning all the micro nutrients such as valine, serine etc…are combined together. However, 95% of the vitamin C you can purchase on the market is fractionated/isolated, meaning the parts have been separated from the whole.

The first thing to look on the labels of supplements you purchase is do they mention that the nutrients are “whole”, “raw”, and organic.” Then find out how they are sourced. If sourcing is from mineral rich soils that has not been fertilized or imported into the United States and sprayed with fertilizer at the port of entry that’s always a better choice. Next is to know how and who is manufacturing the supplement. Has the utmost care been taken in growing the plants, handling them with love and care; testing for potency has been conducted and does the lab that creates the supplements use clean, sterile manufacturing practices?

No supplement will work on it’s own to “heal” a deficiency or give what is needed. We still need to eat well, exercise, and create mental, emotional and spiritual health. However, if you want to ensure you are getting enough of the nutrients you need in your daily health regimen then select whole food supplements as your first choice.

Wishing you vibrant health!

November 16, 2013 – Day 3

Did you get a journal to use throughout this program? You can also create a special section in the notes area on your cell phone or a journal on your computer. I personally love the feel of having a special Journal where first thing each morning I write 5 things I am grateful for and 5 things I desire to create in my life. Lets all do this together buddies can support each other with this.

If you were on our call this week or listened to the recording you heard me share about the most important thing for our well-being is to create a strong vibratory system (body, mind and spirit) to help us achieve our desires…and, most importantly, hold on to them. Since we’re starting with our physical vibrational well-being. Today I’m providing short educational videos for the most checked boxes in the health area on the forms you sent back to me. Watch them all if you can…I hope these inspire you to stay on track with your health strategy! (Copy and paste the below url’s into your browser to view them).

November 15, 2013 – Day 2: Do I Really Need a LYBY Buddy?

Success! I was finally able to figure out how to get our 90min call recording from last night sent out to you. It was sent out via Hightail (formerly YouSendit) so if you’d like to listen to the recording of the call please watch for it in your e-mail.

I’ve asked everyone to partner up with a “LYBY buddy” throughout this program. Now you may be thinking why? Or do we really need a buddy? or I know I can do it without a buddy..etc..etc…That’s your mind playing the trickster so that you stay right where you’re at. Our mind loves to do that because that’s it’s job. It’s job is to keep us safe. When you begin to make some shifts (and with this program it all about very intentional shifts) we have to map out our course, pace ourselves, and then listen closely to the words that start to form in your mind…”Too busy,” “really, I have to do that?” “oh I can’t do that…” or whatever you mind may be coming up with. This is where the fun begins. In observing your thoughts you get to observe the humor, the comedy playing in your mind (all the time). The point I’m making is this. We need buddies to help us follow-through. Have you ever done a night hike? Years ago I did several. In night hiking to keep everyone safe and on course (so they don’t get lost or hurt) what is often done is that the leader holds a long rope and then all those behind him/her grab onto the rope and hike following the leader. That’s a much safer way to hike on a trail on a pitch dark night. That’s what we’re doing together. We all have to hold on to the rope, support each other so we don’t slip, or stumble and stay on course. A powerful and purposeful way for you to step onto your brain superhighway…so grab on the rope, have your buddy next to you, share what your committing to along with your strategy and lets begin! Huge hugs to all of you.

November 14, 2013 – Day 1: Today We Step Onto Our Brain Superhighway….

Today we begin our journey together. Everyone who signed up for this program registered for all 89 days! Thank you. I’m so honored and grateful that we’re going to be sharing our lives and supporting each other to live our full potential through harnessing the power of our perfect creation…our bodies, minds and spirit through March 2, 2014.

Tonight on our call I will be sharing more about our 89 day journey as well as some tools you can begin using right away. True wholeness is created through integrating our body, mind and spirit to create alignment and strong vital forces within all aspects of our being. With strong vital forces we are less affected by the negative energies of the circumstances outside of us and we stand firmly planted yet flexible to all that life presents to us.

These first 7 days we’re going to focus on purifying our bodies. Since 2013 is coming to a close soon, I think it’s important to begin with our physical well-being so that we take care of our bodies as the holiday season is quickly approaching.

Please watch these videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYmb0DYRQKQ

Play work:

1. Find an inspiring journal you’d like to use throughout this program. Preferably, first thing each morning, write 5 things you are grateful for and 5 things you desire to have in your life. Be sure the 5 desires are related to the things you wrote about on the form I sent you and you were asked to send back to me.

2. From the health-related items you wrote down on the form I sent you, select one aspect of your health you’d like to purify in the next week. For example, skipping meals, using a microwave, eating junk food, etc. Next, 1) Write down on a piece of paper how this habit affects you, write down all the negative associations it creates for you including emotions. 2) Next, shred this piece of paper apart (or burn it if you can do so safely), then write down the positive habit that will replace this negative one and the STRATEGY you will use to help you. Strategy is critical to success. This includes getting outside support etc…

3. Find a partner to DAILY support you with the above two. This can be your significant other if they’re willing and want to play along with you. Or, someone from this program. I will match up those that need a partner-please let me know.

November 13, 2013 – Day 1

This website page has been created specifically for your participation in this program. Please visit it daily for receiving guidance, support and inspiration. Our private Facebook place is where we can interact socially for group support and inspiration. I will be on the Facebook page daily. If you need personal support you can connect with me directly by sending an e-mail to: [email protected]

I will also be holding regular “bonus” calls with lots of extra support and surprises to help you throughout the entire 89 days of our journey together. Note that not all calls will be recorded and I will announce ahead of time when they will or will not be recorded.

Please do not share the password for this page with anyone. This program is just for you. I want to make it as personal and customized for you as possible and so want to hold the space that we create together as “sacred” to us. Thank you for playing with me this way.

Together we’re going to create a community that is focused on using ancient knowledge and modern science to propel our lives forward on the superhighway of our potential.
